Issues with Installation of SharePoint 2010 SP1

I recently ran into this issue while installing SharePoint 2010 SP1 update in our SharePoint Farm.  The installation began fine and I was able to install on the first server with no issues.  When I began the update on the second and third servers in the farm, all appeared to be going well.  However executing a few PowerShell commands yielded a message telling me that SharePoint Service Pack 1 was missing.  I tried to re-install the update to no avail, in fact getting a message that the update was already installed.  After searching for a while, the solution was to run “Get-SPProduct –local” on the server.  This PowerShell command kicks off the Product Version Timer Job which will update the information causing the initial problem and in effect let’s SharePoint know the current version.
